Our Outreach Vision is to introduce, explore and inspire community through hands-on introduction, engagement, and education of music and musical concepts.

We share our outreach:

In the classroom through the presentation of workshops, residencies and hands-on education and practice.

In the community through performance, demonstration, and as guest artists at resource fairs, festivals, community events and public arenas.

At NMS through community events, open houses, concerts, and activities.

Our Goals

  • Introduce musical concepts, instruments, and ideas to the community.

  • Spark curiosity and connection to music with the community.

  • Create connection and opportunity to bring new students to NMS.

  • Share joy and the process of music making and education.

Our Partnerships
We believe each outreach program is a partnership, and is customizable to the needs and interests of our shared program. Current Partners include:

classes at art in the park

Join us for special group class programs at our partner location, Art in the Park! All classes are tuition-free through support from the Department of Cultural Affairs, LA County Department of Arts and Culture, and California Arts Council.

Thursdays

  • Latin Percussion Lab, 3:15-4:00pm (K-5th grade)

  • Latin Jazz Sessions, 4:30-6:00pm (all ages)

Tuesdays

  • Early Childhood Music and Movement, 3:15-4:00pm (ages 3-6)

  • Beginners’ Music Jam, 4:30-5:30pm (all ages)
